Test automation is a key ingredient in satisfying the need for quick time-to-market, high quality, minimal expense, and guaranteed interoperability. When implemented well and consistently, test automation results in more tests, performed more often, with more coverage.

Ixia has always provided its customers with best-in-class automation solutions. Since its founding in 1997, Ixia has provided Tcl APIs for all of its testing solutions. Ixia's unique ScriptGen feature produces Tcl scripts from GUI-based test configurations for most of its test applications.

Ixia continues to enhance its leadership position with an open automation framework: Test Conductor. Ixia's Test Conductor is a complete automation and regression framework for Ixia and third-party test applications. Tight integration with Ixia applications enables native test configurations to be automated quickly, easily, and inexpensively without the need for any scripting. Test Conductor's open APIs provide a wide range of options for integrating multiple testing technologies – including lab management, test authoring, and third-party vendors' test applications – into a unified test automation system.

In order to bring the same benefits to test labs that use equipment from multiple vendors, Ixia has contributed Test Conductor as the core technology of the TesLA Alliance. The TesLA Alliance brings together Ixia with other leaders in IP testing to enable seamless integration and automation of multivendor-based tests. IxiaÕs continued commitment to automation will be reflected both in Test Conductor and the TesLA framework.

IxAutomate offers over 90 prebuilt tests for IP test automation that cover routing and switching, Carrier Ethernet, Triple Play, firewall and multicast tests. IxAutomate's batch scheduler allows any number of its tests to be scheduled for execution.

Test Conductor - a test and regression framework that facilitates the development of DUT and test bed configuration, tests and regression suites. Powerful reporting and trend analysis tools are available. Test Conductor has additional close integration with IxAutomate and the following four other Ixia test applications.
IxAutomate - equipped with tests for routing and switching, Carrier Ethernet, Triple Play, firewall and multicast. A batch scheduler is included.
IxNetwork - layer 2/3 testing for network routers and switches.
IxLoad - layer 4-7 testing for Triple Play networks and servers.
IxANVL - conformance tests across the broad range of IP protocols.
IxChariot - performance testing for IP networks and systems.
Ixia Professional Services - the ICE team has prepared hundreds of Tcl scripts that cover the broad range of layer 2-7 testing. Scripts can be used as-is, or as the basis for further customization.
Ixia Platform (Chassis/Load Modules) - the Ixia chassis and load modules used to generate line-rate traffic and capture results.
